Pretty Lips Are Red LP
The Ghost of the Jivaro Warrior (K7)

…The cassette EP « Ghost of the Jivaro Warrior » is the most recent TW offering, recorded live this past march in the studio of a Belgian radio program. Here they seem to have an almost frantic edge to them, bolting through « Headshrinker » and « Jealousy » like refugees from the camps of remedial XTC devotees, the latter in particular having a compelling series of romps up the axe neck as the keayboardist keeps a cool melody in tow. « No New York » is the standout of the bunch, part chaustrophobic noise collage w/chanted vocals and part syncopated Eurobeat. Lots to choose from, though, acroos 7 tunes – a ballad entitled « Brel also! – and you need ’em. (Dead Man’s Curve, 55 Sutton Road, London N10 1HH, England; or the TW’s address in the Netherlands).
